La CornueRepair Miami

26 figures · every one with its reasoning written down

The cost of La Cornue range repair, job by job, with the reasons attached.

Every figure on this site is a starting point for this equipment in South Florida, researched rather than invented, and every one has a row in our own pricing file explaining what set it. No final price is published anywhere: the exact cost is confirmed after an on-site diagnostic and agreed in writing before anything is opened.

  • 26 jobs with a published floor
  • from $95 diagnostic, credited to the repair
  • from $595 the highest figure here
  • Every one is a from, never a price on the phone

Start from the job

Each figure, and what moves it

The number is a floor. What moves it is on the page — usually the part, sometimes the lead time, and on exactly one job the weight of the appliance.

  • Diagnostic visit cost

One figure, credited against the repair, and the only number on this site that is not an estimate. On a make that publishes three error codes in its entire documentation, it buys the measurement that everything else depends on.

    • from $95, credited toward the repair
    • A measurement, not an opinion — there is no code to read on most of this line
    • Scope and figure in writing before anything is opened
    What moves this figure
  • Appliance maintenance cost

An annual visit that exists because most of what goes wrong on this make goes wrong slowly, and the owner adapts to every stage of it without noticing.

    • from $195 — longer than the fleet's standard visit, and here is why
    • Two ovens calibrated on a dual-fuel range, not one
    • The hood is part of it, because the hood protects the range
    What moves this figure
  • Appliance installation cost

On this equipment installation is commissioning: gas and electrical to the maker's own requirements document, leveling to a specification, a hood duct measured rather than assumed, and a first-use check across every module.

    • from $295, and it is a commissioning job rather than a delivery
    • Leveled to specification and proved with water on an oven shelf
    • Fuel, voltage and altitude confirmed against the order
    What moves this figure
  • Surface burner and igniter service cost

Electrodes, ceramics, burner caps and crowns — inexpensive parts, and the commonest gas call on this make. What varies is how many burners are involved and whether anything was cleaned recently.

    • One burner or all of them changes the figure
    • The parts are stocked and it is usually one visit
    • A whole-top ignition module is a different and rarer figure
    What moves this figure
  • Gas valve and thermocouple repair cost

Two safety-critical parts and a leak check on every joint that was opened. Mechanical valves on a made-to-order manifold rather than a common assembly, which is what separates this figure from the equivalent on a mass-market range.

    • from $265, and it is not a job with a cheap version
    • Rebuild or replace is decided per valve, with the reason
    • Every joint opened is leak-tested before we leave
    What moves this figure
  • French top service cost

A cast-iron plaque, its burner, its drip area and its seasoning, with one question at the center: crack or crazing. A service exists on no other site in this fleet, because no other make in this fleet has one.

    • from $245 — diagnosis, burner, underside and re-seasoning
    • A replacement plate is a made-to-order part and quoted separately
    • Most cold-spot complaints are solved at the burner, not the plate
    What moves this figure
  • Lava rock grill service cost

A consumable rock bed, a linear burner cleared along its length, and a drip tray and grate that live under fat in a salt-air climate. Once the module is open the work is known, which is why this figure moves less than most.

    • from $225, and the rock bed itself is inexpensive
    • The linear burner is cleared along its whole run
    • Corrosion in the tray and grate is the thing that turns it into parts
    What moves this figure
  • Teppanyaki element repair cost

An element, a sensor and a control, plus a flatness check on the plate. Electronic parts specific to this make, and no generic substitute for a 2,000 W plate element.

    • from $285, and the parts are not generic
    • No heat at all and one temperature only are different problems
    • A bowed plate is not a control problem and no control repair will help
    What moves this figure
  • Propane conversion service cost

The maker's own published orifice set and procedure, every burner and both oven burners set, a leak check, and a written record of the fuel the range is now on. Priced against the number of burners on a large Château rather than a four-burner range.

    • from $325, and it covers every burner rather than the ones you use
    • The maker's own parts set, never a universal kit
    • The range leaves with a written record of its fuel
    What moves this figure
  • Range relocation and leveling cost

The heaviest job on this site, and the reason is literal: 710 lb uncrated on a Grand Palais 180, 1320 crated, adjustable legs and a leveling specification.

    • from $395 — enough people and the right equipment
    • Gas and electrical disconnected and remade, never stretched
    • Leveled to specification and proved with water on a shelf
    What moves this figure
  • Enamel panel and trim service cost

Finish identification against the original order, chip stabilisation, and treatment appropriate to brass, copper, nickel, chrome or a clear-coated trim. A replacement panel in a catalog color is quoted separately.

    • from $265 for assessment and treatment
    • A panel in the range's own color is a made-to-order part
    • Clear-coated trim is identified before anything is polished
    What moves this figure
  • Flamberge rotisserie repair cost

A module with its own gas circuit, its own ignition and a motor tested under a loaded spit. It sits unused for months and is then expected to work on a holiday.

    • from $285 — motor, burner and gearing as one system
    • Tested loaded, because an empty spit proves nothing
    • Worth running a fortnight before you need it
    What moves this figure
  • Vaulted gas oven ignition repair cost

Igniter current measured, flame supervision tested, the safety valve proved, then a full cycle watched. There is no display to help and no code to read — the Château guide has no troubleshooting section at all.

    • from $275, and the second cycle is part of the job
    • A glowing igniter with no flame is the classic failure here
    • Same-day priority — a sealed cavity is not somewhere to leave gas
    What moves this figure
  • Oven thermostat calibration cost

A calibrated probe through a full cycle, on an oven where unevenness by design has to be separated from real drift first. Often adjustment rather than a part.

    • from $185, and it is frequently adjustment rather than parts
    • Measured through a whole cycle, not with one reading
    • The before and after figures go in the report
    What moves this figure
  • Oven element and broiler replacement cost

Two circuits that fail independently: every vaulted gas oven here carries an electric broiler above it, and the electric ovens are elements throughout.

    • from $255, covering the circuit that has actually failed
    • Terminals and supports are part of the job, not an extra
    • Both functions tested to temperature before we leave
    What moves this figure
  • Oven door seal and hinge service cost

Seal, catch and hinge adjusted as one system, with heat loss measured hot before and after. On a vaulted oven the door is part of the cooking mass.

    • from $215, and it is measured at temperature rather than cold
    • A new seal on a tired hinge is how this comes back
    • Frequently a cooking complaint rather than a visible leak
    What moves this figure
  • Wall oven repair cost

The Château Tourelle, F60 and F75 — fully electric, multifunction, built into a cabinet to a cutout specification. Its own installation guide, and its own parts.

    • from $265, including the planned step of bringing it forward
    • Not the range's oven, and not the range's parts
    • Elements, fan, sensor and control measured separately
    What moves this figure
  • Convection fan repair cost

The motor measured at temperature, the blade and housing checked for contact, and the oven's evenness proved afterwards. The manual says a fan whose note changes as the oven heats is normal — this page is about the ones that are not.

    • from $235, and it is tested hot because that is when it fails
    • A changing note is normal; growing volume is not
    • The reason anyone cares is how the oven bakes, so that gets checked too
    What moves this figure
  • Induction hob repair cost

The most instrumented job on this site, and the only one with codes to read: E2, U400 and Er with a number. Electronic parts specific to this make, with no generic equivalents.

    • from $325, and ventilation is investigated before electronics
    • Every zone tested with a pan meeting its minimum diameter
    • An Er number is quoted with the board's lead time up front
    What moves this figure
  • Induction glass replacement cost

The highest figure on this site. Ceramic glass ordered to that top's own zone layout, coils and electronics inspected for what came through the crack, and the hob sealed properly afterwards.

    • from $595, and the panel is ordered to the configuration
    • Made safe first, diagnosed second — the maker's own instruction
    • Against a $3,500 upcharge per induction element, it is proportionate
    What moves this figure
  • Cooktop control and wiring repair cost

Supply measured at the appliance, connection checked against specification, and the history established — a latched U400 nearly always follows work done upstream.

    • from $295, including the outcome where nothing in the range is broken
    • U400 is the maker's word for incorrectly connected
    • An upstream problem is reported in writing, not turned into a part
    What moves this figure
  • Burner knob and valve rebuild cost

Brass wear parts on mechanical valves used several times a day for decades. The figure covers working every valve on the range rather than the one complained about.

    • from $195, and every valve gets worked
    • A stiff valve is failing, not dry — it is not lubricated over
    • A knob that will not return to off is today's problem
    What moves this figure
  • Hood blower and capacitor repair cost

Capacitor tested before the motor is condemned, motor measured at each of four speeds, and on the larger canopies both blowers tested. Includes protecting a canopy finished to match the range.

    • from $285, and the capacitor is ruled out first
    • Both blowers tested on a two-motor hood
    • The enamel is protected and supported throughout
    What moves this figure
  • Hood filter and duct service cost

Flow measured as found, baffles cleaned or replaced, damper and termination freed, flow proved afterwards. The cheapest hood job, because most of it is the air path.

    • from $175, and the first fix is often free
    • 600 CFM assumes an unobstructed duct — most losses are in the run
    • A coastal termination cap is a salt and grease trap
    What moves this figure
  • Hood lighting and remote repair cost

Lamps, sockets, the receiver and the four-speed control, tested as separate paths. The lowest figure on this site after the diagnostic, deliberately.

    • from $165 — the cheapest repair we do
    • A single lamp is often a customer job and we say so
    • Which control path works is the diagnosis
    What moves this figure
  • Appliance control board repair cost

Supply, sensors and loads all proved before a board is blamed, and the board quoted with its lead time because a control for a hand-built appliance can ship from France. High figure, and rarely the answer.

    • from $345, and it is the last suspect rather than the first
    • A board condemned with a failed sensor attached fails again in a week
    • Lead time stated before anything is ordered
    What moves this figure

What moves a figure here

The configuration, the lead time, and the weight

Our built-in sibling sites price access measured in time — panels off, a machine served from the front. Here three other things move a figure. The top configuration decides which part a model even needs, so the diagnostic carries more weight. Some parts are made to order in France, so the lead time is part of the quote rather than a surprise. And the appliance is heavy rather than awkward — which is why exactly one job on this list prices moving it, and every other job is done where the range stands.

Range relocation and leveling
A section of heavy timber shipping crate wall leaning against a plastered wall in a bright empty room, its steel strapping cut and coiled on the floor beside it, wood shavings on the tiles.

What lowers the band rather than raising it

There is no expensive diagnostic dance with a control system

On the gas half of this line there is no control system at all: it is gas pressure, an igniter, a thermocouple and a safety valve, measured. That is why the gas-side figures here sit close to the fleet’s other cooking sites and only the electronic-side figures sit above them. It is also why a diagnostic on this make is worth what it costs — it is not confirming what a display already said.

What a diagnostic visit involves
A brass mechanical gas valve and its stem lying on a clean workbench in daylight beside an open-ended spanner, no wiring of any kind attached to it.

How to read these

Three things every figure here means

It is a floor, not a quote

  • Every number is a 'from' and none of them is a final price.
  • The exact cost is confirmed on site after the diagnostic.
  • It is agreed in writing before anything is opened.
  • The diagnostic fee comes off the repair when you go ahead.

It is a researched band, not an invoice

  • These are South Florida market bands for this equipment and this labor.
  • They are not this company's job history and not an average of invoices.
  • Every one has a row in our pricing file saying what set it.
  • When real job figures arrive from the owner, that file gets corrected and the site follows it.

Parts are quoted separately, with the wait

  • Igniters, valves, thermocouples, elements, thermostats, seals and lamps are stocked or sourced domestically.
  • A color-matched panel, a plaque or a configuration-specific control is made to order.
  • The lead time is stated before the order rather than after.
  • We will not fit a generic substitute into an appliance like this.

By appliance

What it costs depends on which of these it is

A range, a rangetop, a wall oven and a hood are four different jobs before a single part is named — and one of them weighs over a third of a ton.

  • A heavy hand-built enameled range cooker photographed low from its front left corner in a bright cream kitchen, the deep colored enamel of the flank filling the left of the frame, a brass rail and a row of round brass knobs running away from the camera, two oven doors below, adjustable feet on a warm oak floor.
Dual fuel · gas · all-induction — Château, Châtelet, Castel, Grand Palais, CornuFé

    Ranges

The range is what La Cornue makes, and everything else in the line exists around it. A Château is built to order in France, arrives in a crate weighing over half a ton, and is assembled from parts a customer chose one at a time: which oven is gas and which is electric, whether the top carries a French top, a lava-rock grill, induction or a teppanyaki plate, which of about fifty enamels, which trim metal. Two of them are almost never identical. That is the first thing a repair on one has to take seriously — the model number tells you the size, and the configuration code tells you what is actually under the lids.

    • Dual fuel, all gas or all induction — three different ranges, three parts lists
    • The configuration code, not just the model, decides what is on the top
    • Made-to-order enamel and trim are part of the job, not an extra
    Range repair
  • A tall electric wall oven built into a run of warm oak cabinetry, its door standing fully open on an empty cavity with a circular fan grille on the back wall and three wire shelf runners either side.
Vaulted ovens and convection ovens — gas, electric, and the Tourelle wall oven

    Ovens

There are three different ovens on this make and they fail in three different ways. The vaulted gas oven cooks by radiant heat inside a sealed dome and has an electric broiler over it. The vaulted electric oven sits on the other side of the same range. And since 2025 there is a standalone one: the Château Tourelle, a fully electric multifunction wall oven in 60 and 75 centimeter widths, built to sit in a cabinet run next to a Château cooktop. Which of the three you have decides everything about the repair.

    • Vaulted gas, vaulted electric and the electric Tourelle wall oven
    • Gas ovens carry an electric broiler — browning and baking can fail separately
    • Thermostat drift is measured against a probe, never adjusted by feel
    Oven repair
  • A gas cooking surface with four open brass burner crowns set into a pale limestone island, photographed at a low three-quarter angle so the island runs away to the right and a bright cream kitchen is soft behind it.

    Cooktops and rangetops

A La Cornue cooktop is a set of modules chosen at order time and dropped into a stainless frame: brass gas burners at 17,000 and 7,500 BTU, a 22,000 BTU power burner, the cast-iron plaque coup de feu heated by a single burner underneath, a lava-rock grill, ceramic-glass induction zones, an electric teppanyaki plate. This is the top of a range, and each module is a different repair. Sold on its own without ovens beneath it, the same top is a rangetop, and it has its own page.

    • Gas, induction, French top, grill and teppanyaki modules on one frame
    • Induction is the only half of this line that shows a code — E2, U400, Er
    • A cracked glass hob is disconnected first and diagnosed second
    Cooktop repair
  • A wide stainless cooking top dropped into a counter run photographed square on from the front, so that what is beneath it is plain: two banks of oak drawers and a cupboard door, and no oven at all.
T40 to T48 · 200 mm into the counter · the same modules, no ovens beneath

    Rangetops

A rangetop is the top half of a La Cornue sold in its own right: the same brass burners, the same plaque coup de feu, the same grill, induction and teppanyaki modules, in a stainless frame 200 mm deep that drops into a counter with nothing underneath it. T40 through T48, from 600 to 1800 mm wide. Every cooktop repair applies to it and no oven repair does — which makes it the simplest appliance in the line and the one most often confused with the range on a booking.

    • T40 to T48 — the same configuration codes as the range
    • No ovens, no oven thermostats, no door seals
    • Much lighter than a range, so the one job that prices weight rarely applies
    Rangetop repair
  • A tall chimney flue running from the top of a hood up a pale plastered wall to the ceiling, photographed square on from a little way back in bright daylight, the canopy itself cut off at the bottom of the frame.
Château motorized hoods H11–H20 · island hoods · inserts · CornuFé Cascade, Euclid, Loge, Marquee

    Range hoods

The hood over a La Cornue is not an accessory bought to match. A motorized Château hood starts at $17,400 for the 90 and runs past $25,000 for the Grand Palais 180, it is made in the same enamels and trims as the range, and it does real work: a 600 CFM blower on a four-speed variable motor, baffle filters with a grease capture system, three 20-watt lights and a remote. When one stops, the kitchen it was built for stops working properly.

    • Motorized Château hoods, island hoods and inserts, plus the CornuFé collection
    • 600 CFM blower, four-speed variable motor, baffle filters, remote control
    • A hood is finished to match the range — the enamel is part of the repair
    Range hood repair

Proportion

Set these against what the appliance is

A motorized Château hood starts at $17,400 and passes $25,000 for the Grand Palais 180. A Grand Palais rangetop — the top half, without ovens — starts at $39,200. A single induction element was a $3,500 upcharge at order time and a custom color $3,400. Against that, $595 to replace the ceramic panel that protects those elements is not a high price; it is a proportionate one. Pricing this work like a mass-market catalog would be the tell that we do not service the equipment.

Before you book

Questions we are asked about cost

Why will you not quote over the phone?

For a lamp or a set of baffle filters, sometimes we will. For anything else, no — and on this make the reason is specific rather than commercial. Two ranges with the same model number can have different modules under the lids, so a phone quote would be a guess dressed as a figure. What we can do on the phone is tell you which page on this site your symptom matches and what band it usually falls in.

Is the diagnostic fee really credited?

Yes, against the repair on the same visit. It is not a free estimate though, and we would rather be straight about that: a diagnostic here involves gas pressure readings, current measurements, calibrated shelf temperatures and a written report, and that work has value whether or not you proceed. It is also what makes it possible for us to tell you that nothing needs replacing.

Is it cheaper to replace the range?

Almost never, and it is not close on this make. These are hand-built appliances designed to be serviced from the front for decades; the expensive parts — the enamelled body, the vaulted cavities, the hood canopy — are not what fails. What fails is an igniter, a valve, a thermostat, an element, a blower or a capacitor, and every one of those is a fraction of one per cent of what the range cost. We will tell you honestly if one is genuinely finished.

Do these figures include parts?

No. Every figure here is the work, and parts are quoted on top with their lead time once the diagnostic has established what is actually needed. That is deliberate: on a make where a component can be a stocked igniter or a made-to-order enamel panel, a single all-in figure would have to be either wrong or padded.

In more detail

Why this is the highest band in the fleet, and where it is not

The equipment sets the band

A hood that starts at $17,400. A rangetop that starts at $39,200. About fifty enamels, an induction element at a $3,500 upcharge, a custom color at $3,400, and a crate weighing 1,320 lb. Repairs on that equipment are priced to be done properly — protected, supported, measured and written up — rather than priced against a catalog appliance that gets replaced in ten years.

Parts sometimes cross an ocean

La Cornue builds to order in Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône with fifty to sixty artisans. Igniters, thermocouples, valves, elements, thermostats, seals and lamps are sourced domestically and are same-week jobs. A color-matched panel, a vaulted-cavity component or a control specific to one configuration is an order with a lead time — which is part of the conversation before the repair is agreed rather than after it.

And where the band is ordinary

The gas side. There is no control system to interrogate on a gas Château and no expensive diagnostic dance: an igniter’s current draw, a thermocouple’s output, a safety valve held and released, manifold pressure. Those figures sit close to the fleet’s other cooking sites, and only the electronic-side jobs — induction, boards, ceramic glass — sit above them. The one genuine outlier is moving the range, and that is arithmetic: 710 lb uncrated on a Grand Palais 180.

Tell us the job, and we will tell you the band.

The model code, the configuration if you have it, and what it is doing. We will name the likely part and the range it falls in before anybody sets off.
