La Cornue range relocation and leveling
Moving a hand-built French range is a planned job. A Grand Palais 180 is about 710 lb uncrated, the legs are adjustable across half an inch of specified height, and a range that is out of level cooks unevenly in a way that looks exactly like an oven problem.
- From $95 diagnostic, credited to the repair

How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.

01
Plan the route before lifting anything
Floor protection, doorways, thresholds. Most damage on this job happens in the corridor.
-
02
Disconnect properly
Gas isolated and capped, electrical disconnected at the supply. Nothing is stretched or pivoted on its connections.
-
03
Move it with enough hands
710 lb uncrated on a Grand Palais 180. This is equipment and people, not enthusiasm.
-
04
Set, level and verify
Legs within the specified height, then water on a shelf to prove it.
-
05
Reconnect and prove it
Leak check, every burner lit, both ovens run up, and the hood checked if it moved too.

Dual fuel · gas · all-induction — Château, Châtelet, Castel, Grand Palais, CornuFé La Cornue range repair in Miami
The range is what La Cornue makes, and everything else in the line exists around it. A Château is built to order in France, arrives in a crate weighing over half a ton, and is assembled from parts a customer chose one at a time: which oven is gas and which is electric, whether the top carries a French top, a lava-rock grill, induction or a teppanyaki plate, which of about fifty enamels, which trim metal. Two of them are almost never identical. That is the first thing a repair on one has to take seriously — the model number tells you the size, and the configuration code tells you what is actually under the lids.
- Dual fuel, all gas or all induction — three different ranges, three parts lists
- The configuration code, not just the model, decides what is on the top
- Made-to-order enamel and trim are part of the job, not an extra

About La Cornue range relocation and leveling
About moving half a ton of French range
A Grand Palais 180 is about 710 lb uncrated and 1,320 crated; even a Grand Castel 90 is around 330 lb. The legs are adjustable across a specified height range and the maker's own test for level is a dish of water on an oven shelf sitting at one depth all over. So this is a planned job: the route protected before anything is lifted, gas isolated and capped and electrical disconnected rather than stretched, enough people and the right equipment, then set, leveled, reconnected, leak-checked and proved.

Questions about La Cornue range relocation and leveling
Can two of us not slide it out ourselves?
Please do not. Half a ton on adjustable legs, on stone or tile, with a gas connector behind it, is how floors get gouged, legs get bent and connectors get strained — and a strained gas connector is not a problem you discover immediately. If it genuinely has to move first, turn the gas off at the appliance valve.
Is re-leveling included?
It is the job rather than an extra. A range moved and not re-leveled cooks unevenly, and since the maker's test takes two minutes, anybody who moves one and skips it has not finished.
